Gifts Discernment Committee
The PSMC gift discernment committee was formed by the PSMC Board of Directors to provide a nominating committee function within the PSMC. The PSMC gift discernment committee does its work under the authority granted it by the PSMC Board of Directors. The committee’s basic responsibility is to discern qualified people who are willing to serve on the PSMC Board of Directors, on other conference committees, and as PSMC representatives to various boards, committees and commissions. The gift discernment committee does its work and presents candidates for various positions either to the PSMC Board of Directors or to the PSMC delegates meeting at the annual summer Assembly. The PSMC gift discernment committee is not currently mentioned in the PSMC by-laws but it is assumed that members of the committee will be approved by the PSMC delegates at the annual summer Assembly. These members serve three year terms on the gift discernment committee. A member can serve a maximum of two consecutive three year terms on the gift discernment committee. There are four persons on the gift discernment committee. Three members of the committee represent the three geographic areas of the conference. The fourth member of the committee shall be the past-moderator of the PSMC.
